Math 8
This class is for the eighth graders who need to attain a proficient or an advanced level of proficiency in the state standards in math. Click here to go to a pdf of the standards from the Nebraska Department of Education's website.
Every student is expected to put forth their best effort to understand the concepts to build a solid foundation to continue their math education in high school. Junior high math starts the move away from the direct computation focus in elementary grades toward the more abstract processes of algebraic thinking in the high school curriculum. Many opportunities for future careers have their start in the groundwork laid in junior high math.
I expect my students to come to class prepared with pen, pencil, textbook, calculator, completed homework, paper, and a willingness to work hard. Students are to be in their assigned seat by the tardy bell and getting the necessary items ready to go.
"Never lie. Never cheat. Never steal. Don't whine. Don't complain. Don't make excuses." - John Wooden
Lesson Plans
The following plans are just "plans". Sometimes outside forces cause things to not go the way I expect and changes will be made in class. These changes will most likely NOT get posted here.
