Algebra 2
This class is generally taken by sophomores and juniors who have successfully completed Algebra I and Geometry. Much of the first semester is a rehashing of concepts introduced in Algebra I diving a little deeper into each. Much of the second semester is being introduced to new concepts to prepare for the next level of high school math: Advanced Math (PreCalculus). Once again, dedication by the student to stay on top of the learning will bring benefits down the road. Try to learn things for the long haul...not to just get through the test. Having a good background in math will open doors just as surely as not having a good background will close doors in the future. Since Nebraska tests all juniors with the ACT, much of our practice is geared to those concepts.
I expect my students to come to class prepared with pen, pencil, textbook, calculator, completed homework, paper, and a willingness to work hard. Students are to be in their assigned seat by the tardy bell and getting the necessary items ready to go. See the slide show at the bottom of this page for more detail on my expectations and procedures.
"Never lie. Never cheat. Never steal. Don't whine. Don't complain. Don't make excuses." - John Wooden
Lesson Plans:
The following plans are just "plans". Sometimes outside forces cause things to not go the way I expect and changes will be made in class. These changes will most likely NOT get posted here.
