Calculus
This class is taken by seniors who have successfully completed Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and Advanced Math. Much of the first chapter is a rehashing of concepts practiced in Algebra II and Advanced Math. Much of the rest of the year is spent being introduced to new concepts to prepare for the next level of higher math: college math. Once again, dedication by the student to stay on top of the learning will bring benefits down the road. Try to learn things for the long haul...not just to get through the test. Having a good background in math will open doors just as surely as not having a good background will close doors in the future. Since the Nebraska State Standards must be reported at the end of a student's junior year, students in this class have already completed the state ACT test since all of the standards are addressed by the time he/she has completed Algebra II. This class will continue to prepare the student for that "next" step in their math education.
I expect my students to come to class prepared with pen, pencil, textbook, calculator, completed homework, paper, and a willingness to work hard. Students are to be in their assigned seat by the tardy bell and getting the necessary items ready to go. See the slide show at the bottom of this page for more details on my expectations and procedures.
"Never lie. Never cheat. Never steal. Don't whine. Don't complain. Don't make excuses." - John Wooden
Lesson Plans:
The following plans are just "plans". Sometimes outside forces cause things to not go the way I expect and changes will be made in class. These changes will most likely NOT get posted here.
